THE PANTONE COLOR OF 2025
PANTONE is the universal colour language for designers, brands, and manufacturers. To engage all stakeholders in this conversation, the Pantone Color of the Year selection began in 1999. Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, explains that their goal was to “draw attention to the relationship between culture and colour. We wanted to highlight to our audience how what is happening in our global culture is expressed and reflected through the language of colour.”
Pressman emphasises how, since then, people worldwide eagerly anticipate the announcement of the Pantone Color of the Year.
Experts conduct extensive observation and research that goes far beyond art and design. The Pantone Color of the Year is influenced by cinema and fashion, but also by social movements, political changes and global events that shape the international landscape.
In 2025, the Pantone Color Institute has selected “Mocha Mousse” (PANTONE 17-1230) as the Color of the Year. This warm and rich shade evokes the essence of cocoa, chocolate, and coffee, connecting us with simple and natural pleasures.

According to Laurie Pressman, the choice of this colour reflects a focus on harmony, nature and personal or shared indulgence.
“Mocha Mousse” is characterised by subtle reddish or mauve undertones, giving it a discreet sophistication and an earthy refinement. Its versatility allows it to be easily integrated into various colour combinations, from neutral tones to bolder options like dusty blue, turquoise or pink.
In fashion, it has gained prominence for both men and women in 2025’s collections. Renowned designers have incorporated “Mocha Mousse” into their proposals, highlighting its ability to bring sensory warmth and timeless elegance to clothing.

In interior design, it aligns with the “quiet luxury” trend, characterised by earthy and subtle tones that create a sense of calm and sophistication. Additionally, it complements natural materials and is ideal for elements such as leather armchairs, clay vases, bedding, and paintings, creating cosy and elegant spaces.
It also reflects a connection to well-being and harmony, promoting spaces that invite relaxation and the enjoyment of everyday pleasures. Its warmth and elegance make it a versatile and sophisticated choice.
The Pantone Color of the Year sets the tone for trends in fashion, graphic design, web design, and countless everyday products.
