Ibiza’s street markets are one of the White Island’s great cultural and tourist attractions.<\/strong> They are a mix of tradition, creativity and bohemian spirit, and have long since become a meeting point for locals, tourists and artisans from different parts of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These markets came out of the hippie movement that flourished on the island during the 60s and 70s<\/strong><\/strong>, and many of the current markets retain this free, artistic essence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the most emblematic markets is Las Dalias<\/strong>, located in San Carlos. Founded in 1985, it is known for its magical atmosphere and variety of products, from handmade clothing and jewellery to works of art and decorative items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its offer is not limited to shopping, as it also hosts live performances, international cuisine and workshops for the whole family; a perfect example of how a street market can become a cultural centre rather than just a commercial space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another of the most popular markets is Es Canar<\/strong> (located in Santa Eul\u00e0lia del Rio, northeast of Ibiza), which dates back to 1973. It is the largest and oldest on the island. Across hundreds of stalls, visitors can explore a host of unique items, such as textiles, musical instruments and local crafts. There are also live music performances, keeping the essence of Ibiza alive.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The island’s markets are not only eye-catching for their products, but also for the experiences that people have there. Walking among their colourful stalls is a constant invitation to connect with diversity and creativity.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> Many of these markets have a sustainable approach, promoting organic and handmade products, reflecting the island’s commitment to the environment and local traditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to these established markets, Ibiza also has numerous smaller, more specialised markets. For example, the Sant Jordi market,<\/strong> held at the hippodrome in this small town, is known for its relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to find authentic second-hand treasures. This market is a reflection of the local community, where both residents and visitors share a welcoming and accessible space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
